Main Ingredients
- 1 oz lime juice fresh or bottled
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 4 mint leaves
- 2 oz tequila blanco
- 3 strawberries
- 2 lime slices for garnish
- 4-6 oz club soda to taste
- 1 pinch chili lime seasoning for the rim, optional
Cooking
Rim the glass. Rub a lime slice around the rim of a rocks glass and dip it into the chili lime seasoning.
Muddle. Add the strawberries, simple syrup, and mint to the glass and muddle until the berries break down and the mint is fragrant.
Add the rest. Pour in the lime juice, fill the glass with ice, add the tequila, and stir until the glass feels cold.
Top. Add 4 to 6 oz club soda to taste.
Garnish. Finish with a strawberry slice, mint leaves, and a lime wheel.
Substitutions: Use agave syrup instead of simple syrup, or reposado tequila for a softer flavor.
Tips: Slap the mint before muddling, and use ripe berries so you need less syrup.
Storage: Ideal fresh. Keep un mixed ingredients separate in the refrigerator.
